From looking in the forums looks like there was a patch to fix this in an earlier update of sonic pi but I am still having issues with it. I am pretty new to Sonic-Pi but I love it so far. Hi all! Having trouble getting MIDI output using a Korg SV-2.
Most MIDI equipment and synths can backup data There are basic interfaces that have an input and output these are relatively easy to use and are not.
MIDI interfaces can, in fact, back up data. To connect the mixer to the recorder, run 1/4-inch line cords from the direct-output jacks of the individual channels to the line (track)–input jacks of the recorder. In this case, the connection type depends on the type of interface you use. This connection is usually made using a USB port, but you can find MIDI ports in many audio interfaces. Jam Origin's revolutionary software alternative is none of these things. Hardware systems for generating MIDI output from guitars are often expensive, impractical and unreliable. 
Set up the vmpk in Edit>MidiConnections make sure both midi in and out are Windows MM 4.set the input connection to your Midi Keyboard and the output to LoopBe Internal MIDI and hit OK 5.unpack the glove pie.rar 6.go into the glove pie folder and drag the Midi To Letter script into the GlovePIE.exe 7.hit the RUN button on the launched glove pie. In the Send To menu, select the MIDI interface output from which Studio One Artist will send MIDI data to your sound module. If you are unsure of which MIDI channels to select, we suggest you select all 16. 
For most purposes, you should select all MIDI channels.
Specify which MIDI channels will be used to communicate with this sound module.
